I am about to finish up with the Reserves, the reasons are plenty. As my unit hasn't stated it, it is clear that mobilization is not too far off. The only way they could mob me, is to stop loss me - which would suck, since my civilian career development would take a hit.

Official guidance regarding stoploss can be found in the Personnel Policy Guidance published by DA G1. This guidance is traditionally the most update information out there in regards to mobilization/deployment. (With the exception of alaracts/milpers) I was stop lossed in 2003 for OIF one. I

It CAN still happen (and I expect to see it start ramping up again with the next conflict), however right now it will only happen for very select low density/high demand skills.

As the CSM states, it CAN also happen for entire units going into MOB status, but right now the standard is to separate those who won't be able to complete X% of the MOB, if they don't re-up. Given that we are looking to cut strength, I don't see that changing in the near future.

Thank you LTC Stoneking. This goes very much in line with my own research, I just has started to feel uncomfortable while getting a bigger and bigger role in my civilian job. Things that makes me grow - I don't want to risk the progress I have been building for years.
