Good morning RP brothers and sisters! I have a dilemma. I am in full on GUN LUST after seeing the Henry Golden Boy Silver American Eagle Edition rifle. I do not own a Henry or 22 in lever. Is that just cause to buy it? Wife is okay with it, not that I usually ask for permission but, I did this time. What do you guys think/opinions on the Golden Boy? Thank you in advance!

Pretty, but I wouldn't buy it just because it's pretty. Buy it if it is something you really want. I have always bought for function, not for looks.

Holds twenty 22 short rounds. This gun like most of my 22's would be purely for fun and training. I will say I like the looks of my guns too brother Steve, thanks for the input.

SSG Michael Noll My only "pretty" gun is my Colt Trooper, which is nickel plated. The rest are bone-stock, just as they came from the factory, other than for having Hogue grips on all my SIGs.

I will catch 40 kinds of hell for what I am about to say, but here goes: in my humble opinion, the true Golden (Yellow) Boy is an 1866 Winchester in .44 Rim Fire. I have a 3 digit serial numbered Uberti '66 carbine in .44-40. Henry has taken a huge liberty in producing their 20th century center-fire rifles but they got it right when they finally brought out the reincarnation of the original Henry‼ https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/the-original-henry-rifle/
Of course, it's not available in .44RF but it IS available in .44-40. Close enough!!! (I also have an 1873 Winchester (Uberti) in .44-40 that I bought from Dixie Gun Works. It has some nice engraving and it is VERY accurate (for a "pistol caliber" round). I am quite pleased with it.
JUST MY THOUGHTS...

The New Original Henry | Henry Repeating Arms
In the late 1850s, metallic cartridges were the coming wave of firearms technology, and besides the difficulties inherent to developing reliable and effective self-contained rounds the new ammunition demanded equally new gun designs capable of taking full advantage of what the quick-loading cartridge offered. Cartridges that revolutionized a field of slow-loading, slow-firing, and slow-reloading powder & ball single-shots freed designers to...
