We dodged a monsoon off Azores on USS Trenton, but the LST (flat bottomed ocean jon boat) with Amtraks was not so lucky. I went on bridge to monitor comms, while holding onto the cable. They took over 50 degree rolls. My Amtrak recovery guys and AAVR7 were on it. I crossdecked later for admin. They said after redogging the tracks everyone tried to tie themselves in their rack, and puke was rolling everywhere. Good training.

LT Brad McInnis - We took a hop on the Dubuque from Oki to PI and later Korea with a provisional Westpac MEU. Our CO used the pussy patch behind his ear, but too late. He called us in stateroom for a chat and was a very light green. Myself and others were intentionally rocking to screw with him, good naturedly.
