How does having a parent who’s currently an immigrant affect my chances of getting a Security Clearence?

I’m Looking into reclassing to 25B or 17C. Since I’m currently in the army reserves going to school for Cyber security . Also my wife is a 35G with a Top Security Clearence does that increase my chances of getting a security clearance?

Your wise having clearance will not raise your chances per day, she is a separate subject and so you are. If you’re free from financial indebtedness, no criminal records, no drug use, so on your parents being immigrants will NOT hamper your chances. You will get clearance based on your merit. They will only put a note saying your parent is an immigrant.
