Great real life story. Thank you. All I am saying is for the better part of 30 years now I have seen women pushed into engineering, only to escape when the first opportunity presented itself. The pushing by management, while well intended, had the opposite effect, it alienated the women, produced a toxic working atmosphere because they weren't where they wanted to be, and caused resentment from the honest performers.

And there are still more male oil well workers as well. I guess in order to achieve parity, we're going to have to force some women to go work on off-shore drilling platforms. And we're going to have to force some men to become kindergarten teachers. Ya know....equity.
