Let me tell you a story... When I enlisted in the Army in March, 1966, my Basic Combat Training company was a mix of country and city boys. The difference between them was apparent in many forms, but none planner than our first trip to the firing range. Our first task was to fire 4 rounds into a 1" square target at 25 meters (about 75 feet). We country boys who grew up with firearms needed only four rounds to complete it. Most of the city boys spent the better part of the day trying while we sat in the shade drinking coffee and eating donuts while listening to what sounded like the Battle of the Bulge.

The city boys in my Basic Company were the ones who always dropped their rifles and had to sleep on the floor while a substitute for the rifle slept in the bunk.
