Anyone in the PAARNG? Looking for more info on officer branches?

Currently enlisted now and recently graduated with hopes of serving as an officer for the remainder of my 6 year contract. I was looking at medical services or signal - anyone familiar with these branches in PA? What are your experiences with them? I currently work at a hospital in NYC so am hoping that a unit would be close by.

SGT Jacky Chen, It's best to look at the locations for the units in PA. I live in Carlisle now, and there is a PA NG armory there. There are multiple units throughout the state. There are 4 BCT's of different flavors, so as a junior officer there are jobs to be found in those branches, but there may not be KD jobs available, especially as you get higher up. Unless you are a combat arms officer, it is hard to rise through the ranks unless you branch transfer at some point between the CS and CSS branches. There is a BSB and a CSSB, but I think those are centrally located in PA (one is in Lock Haven). There is a very large training site at Fort Indian Town Gap (again...central PA). There might be smaller detachments out towards Philly, but you need to check with a recruiter or do some online work.

Sir, thank you for the wise words of advice. Is there any source I can use to look up these locations? FTIG and Philly are okay with me in regards to distance. Both are about 2-3 hours away from me.

Indian Town Gap is centrally located. If you are cool with that location, the majority of PA NG locations will be generally alright. I think the 56th SBCT is closest to you if you are in NY, but it depends which BN. Don't know if they are centrally located in one place. I'd just look it up on Wikipedia, frankly. Find out the names of the units and then look up those unit locations. Not all that hard.

If my memory serves me. CAPT Angove is the officer recruiter for the state at the recruiter Center in FIG.

CPT Angove has since moved on to other positions. I last saw him over a year ago.
