Do MEPS locations ever share any recruit information with other sites?

My son started enlistment in Arizona. He has taken his ASVAB, and his waiver for childhood asthma just came through, so he was going to go to MEPS for his physical. We are having to do a quick, last minute move to Georgia, and someone told me that he will basically have to start the recruitment process all over, b/c it takes forever to transfer their MEPS info (test scores and waiver info). Aren't all of the MEPS connected and share info? Why does it have to be "transferred"? Can't they just enter his name and info and see everything in the computer?

The waiver should be service waiver so if you don’t change service you should be ok. Take the waiver paperwork to your new exam and you should be good. They rcam it self my be redone.

Fat thumb, the exam itself will have to be redone. The waiver is the hardest part and you already have a waiver.

I'm having trouble with a MEPS to MEPS transfer and it is my last hurdle to enlist in the Marine...
I was released fromthe National Guard to the IRR and I have all of my paperwork. All I need now is the MEPS to MEPS transfer but Fort Jackson isn't really cooperating. Anybody know how to speed this up or what I can do?

I understand the information in the previous posts. I'm just asking if he would be better off just starting over at a new MEPS station, rather than waiting on a transfer for the Test Scores and Waiver. We can bring the doctor letter there with us, and he could retake the ASVAB at the new recruiter if that is possible.

Chris Boehr - That might be quicker, but if the transfer of paperwork process has started in Arizona, I would let them know this at the MEPS station in Georgia.

Is he trying to go active or reserve or national guard?
If he is trying to go active then I’ll find some way to let him come back to Arizona to Finish the process especially since his waiver got approved.
They will have to transfer his record cause a recruiter can see his scores and records that MEPS can’t see; so if he go to another state and get another recruiter then he will have to transfer the records and that could take 48 hours to months. Don’t be frustrated!

Damn I wish I had seen this post two years ago when it was asked! I could have for sure explained it. For one thing, starting the entire process over wouldn't have been necessary. Your son's ASVAB scores would have still been valid, and if the waiver for childhood asthma had been an actual medical waiver from the service's Command Surgeon, that would have carried over also. Since he hadn't taken the physical yet though, I imagine what was approved was the "med read" sent to that particular MEPS, where the MEPS doctor was in essence granting permission to take the physical with a disclosed, prior medical condition.
What would have had to happen was a "MEPS pull," where the new MEPS makes a request to pull the processing record from the original MEPS. Yes, test scores and physical records can be seen from any MEPS for any service processed for, but a MEPS pull has to happen before a new MEPS can process someone who started at a different one. The reasons are multiple, such as whichever one is the one on record for processing is responsible to ship the servicemember when they go to training, the one on record for processing has to have original, hard copy documents on hand (which are faxed and mailed after the MEPS pull request), compiling proper enlistment data, etc. By the way, it doesn't take forever for a MEPS pull and Fax and Mail to happen. I think you got bad Intel on that one. Usually takes two weeks in total on average.
