APOD: 2022 June 6 - Milky Way Galaxy Doomed: Collision with Andromeda Pending

Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the June 6th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Milky Way Galaxy Doomed: Collision with Andromeda Pending." Based on existing data, today's APOD is an imaginary night sky several billion years into the future. Something similar to yesterday's APOD is likely in the offing for the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies as the two become gravitationally 'entangled' and eventually merge into one. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) only recognizes 88 constellations today. Looks like star charts will become much more complex.

Excellent APOD share Maj William W. 'Bill' Price , I don't think we would notice the collision.
