Mine were whatever the latest version of Operational Terms and Graphics, AR 670-1 (Uniforms), 600-20 (Army CMD Policy), Infantry Rifle Platoon and Squad, Evaluations, D&C and an oldie FM 100-2-1. Yes, I am aware that this is perhaps the saddest question ever asked on RP but I would geek out on these on a regular basis.

FM 7-8. It is the bread and butter of the Army's fighting force. Read it, learn it, live it, love it.

And be a hard-nosed, hard-charging, ground-pounding, door-kicking, beautiful, badass bastard while you're at it.

The "Wall to Wall" counseling manual. Unofficial but handy for those difficult troops! LOL

MAJ (Join to see) - Having to ask someone "Please" to do something that should've already been done sucks. There has to be a good way to motivate slackers without beating them. More push-ups I guess! LOL

Please figure something out, I get a lot of 15's and Seps that come my way and sometimes I think... Why can't you just be a good NCO/Officer and fix this guy instead of killing their career with paperwork from the get go on a minor issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm thoroughly convinced my MOS is important, I've seen some really sick stuff so far. The sick stuff I have no problem doing, I want those guys gone. It's the minor stuff that's just stupid. PVT Snuffy was cussing and being inappropriate in public. Is it too hard to just PT the guy and explain to him what he did was wrong and why? No it's easier to just 15 the guy.

SPC (Join to see) - Smoke them until they get it. At least they take the attention away from everyone else. Someone smarter than me has to figure it out. That's what leadership is for I guess.

SPC (Join to see) - I would say that an ART 15 for cussing and being inappropriate in public was probably the culmination of several issues that just afforded the command a reason for NJP. PT'ing someone for such an action would be punitive in nature when a corrective action might be better suited via counseling and corrective training. This also depends on context as well as in what was the verbiage used and where? For example, Joe gets pissed off at a unit family function and shouts "That's bullsh**!" is significantly different than Joe shouting racial epithets at a Kwanzaa gathering. One warranted a counseling (at most, I would have just discreetly told him to STFU) and the other an Art 15.
