His bonafides seem to position him as the right man at the right time for Canada -- time will tell

Why will that matter? Canada holds Federal Elections this year and the Liberal Party isn't in a good position to win. Carney is a lame duck PM at best. Now Carney may be smart enough to sit down with Trump on Trade, but the Liberal Party hasn't been known for being smart for a long time.
