I was never a student of literature, language, or developed an interest in writing upon graduating from HS. I developed my reading skills while in the Navy over a nine month deployment aboard a carrier. Many years later and well into civilian employment I was told by my employer I was to attend a technical writing course as a requirement to my new job assignment as a project specialist. The course was developed by Shipplys, but the thought terrified me because I had avoided any attempt at writing as my English and spelling skills were less than stellar. Long story shore: I really enjoyed that course and now enjoy writing. I take my time to gather my thoughts and mull over my writings for days before I’m satisified it’s worthy to send on or publish. I’m reasonably sure my HS English teacher would be in shock to know I can read with understanding, but would probably pass out if they knew I actually enjoyed writing. I now volunteer as a reading teachers aid through a nationwide program called Adopt-a-School.

As a published author... it seems easy to write, just a little tough to get started.
