The NCO will be required to learn additional radio sets/systems, manage the maintenance and COMSEC fills for those systems, and interact with General Officers and VIP’s on a regular basis while flying in the UH-60 helicopter.

Requirements –

Be willing to deploy to Bagram, Afghanistan mid spring
Pass a part 2 flight physical
Air assault qualified or willing to attend
Be able to work independently and multi task
Be willing to learn the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter
Have Leadership time (be willing to take charge of door gunners – A Co)

Benefits –

Work independently
Receive flight pay
Work in the best UH-60 Blackhawk Company in the Army
Perform crew chief duties (during deployment)
Interact with VIPs on a daily basis

If anyone on here has contact info for some Signal Leaders on Fort Campbell let me know. Our old console operator retired and left a huge hole that can't be filled by any 25U (we tried it already, multiple times).

Quite the job posting. These 25U's need to jump on this opportunity.

SFC Oddo - I completely agree. We have asked some units and some of them were interested until they heard the flying part. This is a great opportunity to show the Division how high speed and professional one is. This person is the face that high ranking individuals and dignitaries will see when they fly with us. I think the lack of interest is more from not knowing what the position is. I am still hoping this post can generate some interest or volunteers. Thanks for your comment.

SGT Pefley - yes as odd as it sounds. We talked to a few around the Division and they sounded interested until they heard about flying. I thought it was strange since a lot of Soldiers would do anything to fly in a helicopter.

Lol, this began in B Co in 2001, as I was the C2 operator and was part of the team that flew to the pentagon and displayed it to the chiefs of staff. No flight pay or wings then. Glad to see they've changed protocol
