My son just graduated BCT on Friday....went through graduation and everything....went on his afternoon pass and came back. Was told at that time he was under SHARPS investigation. Was told that a guy in the platoon made a claim about him "running naked in the shower with another guy." Other platoon members that I have talked to say its BS and all that. But my questions is....what happens next? We have yet to hear from our son. He was suppose to start AIT on Monday. We are so worried and confused.

If there is a valid SHARP complaint against your son, he is being held over for investigation and has been ordered to cooperate fully and probably not talk to anyone about the case. He will be held over until the investigation is complete. As for how long the investigation will take, no one rightly knows. If found innocent of the accusations, he will then proceed to AIT. If found guilty of the accusations, he will then pay the piper in some fashion, whether it be Non-Judicial punishment or Judicial Punishment. Sadly, this is going to be a "sit back and wait" for all parties.

For running in the shower? My TI said he would charge the first guy that made a complaint like that with being a pervert. A soldier is supposed to be able to see a nude body without getting all excited.

Sgt Dennis Gray - Exactly! Plus I have had at least 2 of his battle buddies reach out to me on their way to AIT that said he did nothing wrong. I don't understand why this is happening. I know its a sit back and wait thing but you hear all the time how people who are wrongly accused are still punished. I am one very worried mom right now.

It depends. But he's going to be a hold over until the investigation is complete and that will take as long as it takes.

He's not starting AIT until this is done. They will have to talk to anyone who was in the shower at the time. That takes time. If they don't find any evidence to substantiate the claim, it will be ruled unsubstantiated and that's it. If they find any evidence to substantiate, it goes to CID.

UPDATE: I was able to get in touch with my son this weekend. Hiss case has been cleared and he is now on a holdover waiting new orders to travel to AIT. Thankful this is all over but he was a mess when I first talked to him. Thank you all for the information. Now we just wait on new orders which I can handle now that I know he is ok.
