How do you not shave? Did you not practice shaving for 14 weeks straight on Sandhill?

Listen, this isn't a bash session. I was a good soldier just make dumb choices I completed PRC (pre ranger course) as a E-1. If you have something negative to say get out of this post.

I'm not here to bash. Im just confused because the definition of what it means to be a Private First Class is a master of self responsibility and the beginning stages of leadership. As far as being barred for reenlistment, I don't think a couple of five o clock shadows would do it.

SPC Cameron Hale - exactly what I said, never in my career has a soldier been barred for just what he claims, those are all minor infractions that , at best, would result in a summerized ART 15 - something that would not even be put on record. There is far more to this than that.

Congrats. Now, with that being said, might I recommend you remember all the dumb stuff you did that put you in this spot and do your best to NOT repeat them.

Congratulations and I would say you have been given a great opportunity. You may or may not realize that now. 20 years from now you will understand. My unsolicited advice is to become an expert in the Profession of Arms. What does that mean? Get rid of all the childish stuff and focus on being the best Infantryman. Get in shape, find a NCO to be your mentor, preferably one with a Ranger Tab. Get your doctrine manuals or digital products and read them to know them. Go to a military surplus store and get a copy of FM 7-8. Memorize it. Get in your BN pre-Ranger course again and drill all the tasks in prep for the EIB. Immerse yourself in the profession- your peers will not. Hang with your peers that share the same devotion. Become competitive with them, not against them. We all hate the spotlight Ranger. Going to the Traffic Light days are over. You have some age on you now and hopefully some maturity. I would expect unit leadership to expect much from you. One mouth and two ears, remember that. If I was your BC and you talked back to an NCO you would never recover. Think. Good Luck.

Congratulations. Remember that you chain of command went out on a limb for you and said you were worth keeping around. I would work on making sure they don't regret that decision. Almost all of us have screwed up, you get a second chance. Don't blow it.

Usually if the CO signs off on it....the BN Com will too...They usually trust the CO since they know your record best. Just be sure to be the best you can be from here on out and don't make the CO regret pushing that waiver through. If you do...you will have to probably have to PCS to start over possibly.
