What is life like as a 42A in the 82nd? How often do I get to jump, and will I actually do stuff in the field or always be in an S1 shop?

You'll be in an S1 shop, but you'll go to the field when the Battalion does. S1 has important functions in the field. In the 82nd you'll jump just like everyone else. EVERYONE jumps in the 82nd. The only difference is what you do after link up.

Good grief- BN exercises the entire BN goes to the field- all the shops- and you will work d jumps.uring the exercise, same for the Bde and the Div. When you deploy, you take everybody capable of working. Minimum jump every 3 months to stay current and cover your jump pay. With that said in 21 yrs on status I have 326 jumps.

If you’re jump qualified & with an Airborne unit you can expect to jump about every 90 days or so to keep jump status. You can volunteer to jump more often
