Thanks for the Share, I am my Commands Safety Manager I have used this and another story about a local Airman who was critically injured to send out an all hands ORM memo.

One to pass on to RP is in the case of the local lad his wife had no idea who to call in an emergency. So the Command was not informed for almost 24 hours that he was in the hospital. He was in no condition to tell anyone and his cell phone had been destroyed in the crash. We have now put out to everyone to hand out a copy of the CoC contact list to their spouses and or put them on their fridge for easy access.

PO1 J Spencer – You're welcome, and I can definitely related. I was Command Safety Manager when I was assigned to 2/402nd AFSB during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Great idea, and thanks for the heads-up on the command-notification shortfall. May I also suggest that your office – Commands Safety Manager – be put on any Unit In-processing checklist to chop/sign-off. This will help to ensure that future personnel being assigned to your unit are pre-briefed on emergency notification procedures. And please be sure to become one of my RP connections. Thanks!
