"Balancing the requirement to field the future fleet, while maintaining the sustainable forward posture that keeps Americans safe and prosperous, is our central challenge," he wrote.
I liked the article. This above quote I do not agree with 100%. For America to be prosperous, we need fair trade with China. Not the last 20 years of unfair trade, cheap crap from them and another round of Biological warfare.
I suspect, The CNO has already thought of and already moving forward with gaining military alliances that bring the sea trade under the watch of a 1000 ships. Our trade alliance with Briton and India should get us most of the way there. Training together and using cloud based AI software to coordinate and move together as one should make us stronger.
Best of fortune to the CNO and our hard charging Navy. If you need emergency point of care ultrasound imaging, I am mobile and I can send post surgery exams for Radiologist review through the cloud. My LLC is listed with SAM and the VA.

Meh - same old same old - “Russia/China bad, we don’t have enough ships. New tech moving too slow.”

Get rid of the touchy-feely BS and scrap the billions of dollars in uniform changes and re-teach sailors how to navigate without all the gee-whiz tech.
