Unwinnable, probably, but they could prolong it into one of the bloodiest wars in history.

Even today, geography matters. Thousands of miles for the US and many of its allies (UK, AUS, NZ), and only 100 for the CCP. We can force them to pay a heavy toll, but I don't think we can stop it in the long term.
