Without getting mos specific.

Discipline is going to be the number one thing.

Proper TLPs, PCC, PCI, and just generally doing the right thing.

I don't care if you're a scout out on a screen line or a cook in the center of a fob, if you're not doing the little things right Geronimo will make you pay.

Don't sleep when you're supposed to be awake.

Remember basic skills like challenge and password.

Practice your battle drills and be ready to execute them as best you can.

Learn to conduct a defense, don't assume just because you're in the rear or work in the BDE Toc that you are safe.

If you make a mistake once, don't make it again.

Stay safe, and follow Exroe.

Just to name a few

Thank you SSG (Join to see) , one of the points I keep driving home is the need for solid basic soldier skills.

A big thing if you have the ability to persuade it, is convoys/convoy security. A huge mistake commonly made is convoys getting on a schedule. Times need to be changed around, and security needs to be in place just prior. Basic skills for mounted operations. Geronimo will notice schedules and take advantage.

I am currently serving as the Distro PSG for the OPFOR FSC. Feel free to msg me and I can talk to you. BLUF: have a TACSOP and be rehearsed. Dont show up with nothing because you wont have time to maintain your decision making and planning/targeting cycles and still create your tactical piece. You will be mostly reactionary, thats what its important to have the TACSOP and be rehearsed in your TTPs. Another big thing is be prepared for the "Fight of your Life," we are experts in.our field craft, we are agile, adaptive and disciplinesd. Be open to the AARs and take the lessons learned here back with you.
Again hit me up directly and I'll see if I can help.
Remember sweat spilled here in a CTC is to prevent blood being spilt in the battlefield.

Best was to tackle JRTC is go into it like its a deployment. Next the OCs are always right even when they are not.
