I feel you are correct on your assessment, if this person is trying to get in the Army, how in the hell did they get on to this military discussion forum, don't you have to be a veteran or active duty member in order to post?

SPC Ron Salsbury - You're also able to create a "civilian" account. However, to have a verified account you must be a Veteran/Active Duty/ROTC.

Gonna say more than likely no. If there is something harder than pot you will have little chance and if there is a drug conviction absolutley not. We have to do waivers for MIPs. Sorry.

A) delete this post. B) talk to a recruiter. If you do not have a criminal record you should be fine. They will ask about previous drug use which could limit some options. Or some recruiters will just not include your drug history into your packet. Really just depends. I told my recruiter about some drug use while I was in high school and it didn't limit me. Also I joined during the surge so I probably could have joined with anything short of a felony.
