I spent an INCREDIBLE day in Washington, D.C. yesterday with a bus full of veterans who served in wars ranging from World War 2, to Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan. We departed Bethlehem, PA, at 0700 and didn't leave D.C. until 1600, arriving at the Sands Casino for dinner at Emeril's around 2000.

We visited the Iwo Jima Marine Corps memorial, WW2 memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam War memorial. It was a powerful and emotional day for all of us.

One of the highlights was singing patriotic songs as the WW2 memorial. It attracted a large crowd of tourists who shook hands with us, hugged us, and thanked our veterans for their courage, sacrifice and dedication to our country.

Photos will be shared soon.

This trip takes place every year around this time. We are always looking for WW2 and Korean War Veterans (whose numbers are very sadly dwindling year after year) to attend our trip. If you know of a WW2 or Korean War vet who lives in the Greater Lehigh Valley, please contact me.

Special thanks to PPL Corporation and PPLVETS Business Resource Group for graciously funding the bus ride, as well as commemorative shirts, for each of the attendees. Your commitment to our communities is admirable and we all very much appreciated this opportunity.

Thanx for sharing ...I know the older Vets are getting frail but they still get up, salute smartly and their hearts beat with pride at these events.. It also is good for them to share their experiences with other vets of their generation....
I salute them all and say "THANK YOU!!"

Just some of the MANY photos taken throughout the morning, afternoon and evening. What a great way to honor our veterans.

Hoping this inspires you, your local businesses, and veteran support groups to do the same.

We're planning an event on Veterans Day (11/11/2015).. at Boston College Chestnut Hill MA....and hope we can have the WWII & Korean War Vets attend, weather permitting. But their ranks are thinning now & not sure how many can make it this year.
