You know it interesting you posted this cause I am a Texan unfortunately I'm in Virginia, but what allot people don't realize is that Texas is probably in my biased opinion one of the most Pro military hiring states. Mostly due to the fact that Texas is so large and while their are many bases of all branches in the state they are fairly spread out with the exception of San Antonio, so because of this area's like Houston and Dallas love Veterans because they value the years of leadership and management you have achieved under high tempo and pressure. Not only that but even with your Montgomery GI Bill or Post 9/11 you can still apply for Education benefits through the state of Texas as they have their own Veterans State Program. I've personally been giving it allot of thought of moving back home as the area here in Virginia the Norfolk, Hampton, Chesapeake and Va Beach area is highly saturated with Veterans and the desire to hire is not as high.

Paul I agree with you, although I am not from Texas, statics show that Texas and Florida are two of the best states to take care of troops.

I enjoyed my visit to Dallas - Fort Worth a few years ago, outside of the blistering heat. It changed my perspective on Texas (which was very negative at the time), to one of that I could see myself living in Texas for the right job opportunity.
