As I have been finishing the framework to launch My Veteran Community Inc. into the new year, I have been trying to find out which issues plague veterans the most. Personally for me it was a lack of college education that could be turned into a successful career (which I'm working on now), issues with the VA, and finding a decent job to provide financial stability for my family while I work towards me dreams. I have since found that job, but it took me nearly two years with no help. What areas did/do you struggle with, have you found help for those areas, and if so from who? Thanks for your input.

Coming to the realization that no one really cares. Colleges and employers could care less what you did and all the great things you did in the service of this nation. They only care that we conform in the here and the now. The lack of education is a close second on this one.

I feel you on that one. When I got back from Afghanistan, I can't tell you how many times, my own family members would ask me, " So how was Iraq?" I just wanted to throat punch people sometimes. Everyone wants to act patriotic, but the truth is nobody really knows, or cares about what is going on over there. That is why I came up with My Veteran Community, so that veterans, service members, and their families can look out for each other and know where to look in times of need. Thanks for your input.

Cpl Justin Sowell - I had the same thing happen when I came back. Or my favorite the disingenuous thank you for your service that drives me nuts.
