I am sitting on Staff Duty as the SDNCO and my thoughts are going to this question: "What am I actively doing to improve myself on a daily basis?"
I go to the gym, but the job is so much more than physical.
So here is the deal. I can divide it into a few categories for self driven self improvement. Physical, Mental, Professional, Relational, and Spiritual.
Naturally there is some overlap as we are holistic beings. The challenge: Think of a way to grow or improve in each area each day. Remember if you are not growing, you are dying.
So. How are your improving yourself?

It's hard to improve perfection...

Kidding. I work on my relationship with my wife and son. Having a happy family greatly improves my work performance.

Also if I can handle the stress of a 2 year old screaming,I'll be able to put up with 1st SGT screaming! ;)

At my age, keeping in shape is key and is good both mentally and physically for me. Also, I try to keep up with the latest news, trends, and training that involves myself or my troops. The hardest thing is that I do is constantly self evaluate and determine my good habits and the bad habits. I try to increase the good habits and decrease the bad. And lastly, to remind myself that I need to constantly work on learning and not rest on my past experience.

Slowly and steadily working on my degree, trying to keep my old arse in shape, working on the marriage, and trying to be an example (good) for my troops, and my little princess. Add in a little PS4 time, and that sums it up.

I like my PS4 time too Chief. A little time away from reality is a good thing.
