The EU's new rapid reaction force is asserting it will intervene in countries with border issues with or without the host countries permission.

There is no damned way that'd work in the good ole US of A! (I understand we are not in the EU).

I do not think this will work as there is still a feeling of gov't snooping in many countries across Europe, this would be an easy way for an external force to essentially spy while under the guise of border enforcement operations... I think it would be more viable for a neighbor country to take action as they have a direct interest in protecting their borders/citizens....I cannot see this lasting.

The Germans were on the French border within 48 hours of the Paris bombing.
They were checking vehicles and individual identification

Europe is pretty much under a centralized government anyways, so with them I guess it may work. The only problem I see with this program is who gets to really decide when that force gets to step in and when it is time for them to leave. Besides you always here the UN talking about a "World Order" of sorts and I am sure they want to the be the ones calling the shots. Here in the United States the people for the most part would never stand for this, well you would always have those Kool-Aid drinking ones that would welcome in a foreign force. I say let Europe and the rest of the world do what they want to do and We will take care of our own.

We have this in the USA, it's called the Border Patrol. Or the FBI or the DHS or the Federalized National Guard. Or the US military at times.
