Trying to find out if anyone has done this recently. I came off of recruiting duty May of 2021, due to the current strength of USAREC and making the 2019 SFC List I was unable to convert to 79R. Also looking for insight on Time on Station requirements, I have received different answers from Infantry Branch, USAREC Division Outreach NCO's, as well as the Recruit the Recruiter Team, Some say 12 months, others say 24 months. Not looking for anyone's opinions on USAREC, or their Recruiting experience. I just want to know if anyone has done this or knows of someone that has and some clarification on the TOS requirements. Thanks!

I tried back in 2012, my branch did not want to release me. You cannot do a second "detailed" recruiter tour, you will have to do a reclassification packet. 4187 request for 79R Mos. Time on station only matters if you are overseas. In CONUS you just need 6 months time on station. The recruit the recruiter website should have all requirements. Age, TIG, TIS.

Do you have a preference on WHERE. Does it make a difference?

If I was in this situation I would go talk to my company or battalion commander. I am not totally familiar with Army procedures but in the Marines we submit an Administrative Action form to put in the request when then has to be forwarded up the chain of command to Headquarters Marine Corps. Good luck to you!
