As a prior service Marine going to 12C AIT as an E5, will I get my freedoms (electronics after class hours and weekends off)?

More often than not, those that are Prior Service MOS-T going for reclass usually get more freedoms than the IET Soldiers. You will more than likely get freedom of movement outside of training and on weekends. Should be allowed possession of your cell phone. Electronics (laptop, etc.) will probably be allowed as well.

I say all these key words because it all boils down to what the Cadre will allow or not and where you are housed during training.

Having once reclassed as Prior Service into the realm of 12B, we other reclass Soldiers had to stay in the same barracks but down the hall away from the others. We were given freedom of movement after class and on weekends (we just had to keep the CQ up to date). We were allowed electronics to a certain extent (this was back in '96, so bear that in mind when you think electronics back then). One of the reclass has his POV there and was allowed to use it on the weekends.
