Are there a lot of grey areas regarding fraternization in Article 134 UCMJ, Art 92?

There is no ambiguity when it comes to this. Persons with rank must be in those positions as teachers, mentors, and leaders. They must foster trust and respect with troops. That means not banging your troops. Lead from the front and Weed out the 10%.

I agree with JP4 on this. What makes it suck is the vagueness of it, but depending on the rank of the interpreter of the reg, it's either much more "clear" or twice as "cloudy". I say that meaning I could read the reg and it's crystal clear to me. MAJ reads it and "based upon his expert level of knowledge, his time in command, and his college degree", he's the one who's right.

Beautiful Response! My Chain always told Us "One up or One Down"! In regards to Rank! Date (fraternization) your allowed One Rank Differance! And I was in Theater when those rules were put out by my chain; because there was a lot fraternizing going on as you know as we all know! I remember Women would deploy and come home pregnant; or You'll see Soldiers too sick to go on a mission but still sneaking around on a FOB going from hooch to hooch! A lot of gray areas! I guess when in doubt don't do it! Because you will be held accountable and made an example of!
