E-benefits and "going electronic" is the best thing that VA has done in decades, hands down. It gets better everyday as more systems get integrated. Thanks for the advice, Top.

Get a copy of your C-File IOT see what VA has or "doesn't" have on you. Although I'm sure VA Reps are not out to lowball you, they are swamped and sometimes make mistakes... You can't fix your claim unless you know what's in your C-File. Google VA C-file. The C-File is of upmost importance... There are plenty of VSO's out there, but no one is going to put more time and effort into your claim than, you guessed it... You! Educate yourself on VA's intricacies... Nonetheless, if you don't have the time necessary to research and learn a very convoluted process, your best bet is to get a VSO...

Contact a DAV or VFW Veteran Service Officer (VSO) to help you. I was getting nowhere on my own, until I had a VFW VSO help me with my claim.

Be persistent and patient. With the VA (and many other organizations) no doesn't mean no. Sometimes you have to keep asking around until the right person says yes. There are millions of Vets in the VA system so it can also unfortunately can time to get many things done.
