Does anyone recall what B Rations were?

they preceded t rations. Best way to describe them would be like c rats but larger containers for groups and normally prepared in a mobile kitchen. BTW...Thanks for making me feel old ! LOL!

MSG Huffman - in actuality B rations were large cans of dehydrated foods that needed to be hydrated for 24-48 hours prior to being cooked.

I knew some were dehydrated, but didn't realize they all were.

Ok, thanks for the information, I didn't know what B rations were, before My time I imagine although most the C rations I ate in Viet Nam were canned during the Korean War although there were still some lots left over from WWII Pretty good shelf life on em It seems.
