How much does this bother you?

Not a lot. At least people are making some effort to honor service people dead or alive. Most people don't actually know what most holidays were created to honor.

Not nearly as much as people wishing me a "Happy Memorial Day." The day is about remembrance and not celebration. Thankfully I have the day off work so I can avoid 99% of people.

It bothers me, MCPO Katrina Hutcherson, but that bother is taken and put to work. I participate in Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades. I support military-themed events on a volunteer basis. As Sgt (Join to see) has pointed out, few still recognize the difference between the two days. No matter. One never knows when you will be the one to light a candle when the world is dark around you. Be there. Light the candle.
