Should Mr. Trump debate Senator Sanders? What are the pros and cons?

It's purely a matter of gamesmanship as I would like to see it for no other reason that it would sideline Secretary Clinton leaving some of her followers to wonder why she wouldn't.
In the end the two of them would be up for full display w/o the others to detract from either their genius or their lunacy.

I don't think Trump wants to really go against Bernie. Say what you will about him, but I think he would unload both missiles from his TOW racks on Trump. Bernie while he has quite a few flaws, he has come with solid ideas that match what he's always believed. Trump believes what he wants, when he wants to believe it. And going onstage against Bernie would be ugly for Trump. He WILL be called on all the mess he's tried up to this point, and Trump would have to answer for it. Also Trumps penchant for insulting his rivals won't hold water on Bernie. Bernie isn't afraid to throw them back. It wouldn't be that good until the niceties are over and the gloves are off. I'll be sleeping by then.

This socialist idiot has never had an original thought, let alone any moral character, and he's never lived a single minute of his adult life without being supported by taxpayers. Maj Rob Drury - Sir I respectfully disagree. Bernie for all of his flaws and there are many, has stayed true to his message. Not much flip flop, he's staying the course. Now even I know that what he's proposing is crazy, but a lot of good comes out of "crazy" ideas at the time, yet make sense later on. Trump has not had a solid platform without changing his mind whenever he wants. His staff can't even get it straight. Trump says six million, the advisors say 4.5.....that's not a good look. He's said things that are coming out, written books that have outlined his positions in the past, and some recent comments before he ran for office would make a true GOPER go insane. They would swear that Trump is a Dem in Rep clothing. If you look at the debates that have been held, Trump was at his best when he wasn't talking. Once he opened his mouth, it was only to insult, deflect, or throw grade school jabs at the moderators. Bernie has looked frazzled sometimes, but the message is normally clear and consistent. Doesn't make him better, but tells you that he is possibly a man of character and integrity.

Gamesmanship, exactly! I think he should and he should be sympathetic to Sanders when he does. At this point Sanders is a non player striving to stay relevant playing up to his emperor worship followers. Facts mean much less to these people than emotions and cult personality. The longer Sanders stays in the race the more chance many of these followers will refuse to vote for Clinton. If Trump debates Sanders, but makes it very cordial and gives him sympathy and support as being silenced by the Mainstream Democratic party he might even get a few of them to vote for him. In any event, I don't see it as a losing situation for him. He either gets votes he wouldn't have had or denies votes to Clinton or the field stay6s the same. He isn't going to lose any votes by debating Sanders. In my opinion.

Not much up-side, and a lot of down-side. Sanders might create some flesh wounds for HRC to rub salt in later, while Sanders doesn't need to worry about later. I bet Trump won't do it.
