SGT (Join to see) I found that the ACM has some pretty good articles in the monthly magazine that is mailed out. He believes it is a good professional association to be a member of to show on your resume. He opted for the slightly higher membership for the greater online library access. He compares ACM with IEEE, but IEEE doe snot mail out a magazine. (also check to see if your auto insurance company has a discount if you are a member).
