Are there any organizations that offer interest free/low interest loans, or grants in small amounts for veterans?

Obviously there would have to be steps in place to ensure it was not being abused, but I have known many veterans in a rough spot that could have used a little help (including my self not so long ago)

Searching I find there are options for very specific things like making your home disabled accessible, but nothing of an immediate emergency option.

One thing I notice about A lot of veterans, is for some reason they tend to have bad credit, and getting traditional loans can be either impossible, or incredibly expensive.

What options are there? If there are not any, should there be? Through the government, or a private Non-Profit Org? etc/

I think it would be a great idea, might even lower the homeless rate of vets.

Your local American Legion and VFW may provide help. USA Cares is another good resource. Additionally, Military OneSource is, I think, is really beneficial because they are great at doing the research for you on a local level.

No AL and VFW really wasn't a big help, they sent me to one another and to Red Cross, someone at the VA told me about military one source and Red Cross but it's so hard to get help they all send you round in a circle. I still need help.

I am collecting a disability from Va and no one seems to be able to help. I am in a major hardship at this time. I don't know what to do. I've called pretty much every organization out there and went to churches and begged I never asked for help. I lost my house, and kids and wife everything.

My bge is about to get shut off and the only transportation is about to be repoed, and my car insurance is about to drop, I had to send my kids to live with their mom because of no food and basically no gas and electric soon. My rent is late I can be locked out at any time I'm trying to do the best I can. I'm struggling bad. I don't know what else to do. VFW and AL both said I don't qualify.

I'm like 15-1800 short. If I was to get that I would be at lease afloat it would catch me up and next month for sure just till I get on my feet. I am struggling and as a veteran combat i had to swallow my pride and ask for help and yet I can't. I don't drink or do drugs nothing because I am on strict budget and I try and stretch it all out. There days I don't eat - just to make sure my kids eat. I don't have couch tv internet lap top computer or anything fancy.

I've called 32 organizations and went to VFW, AL, VA, 9 churches, Red Cross, and most want me to fill out applications and all which I have but no computer or internet or printer I am screwed I've ask buddies to print stuff off but some say it may take 2-4 weeks for approval.

My vehicle is up for repo if not paid but 9/21 and gas and electric will be 9/22 by Oct 1 I could be evicted.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

May I suggest you contact your local VFW. While I can not garantee what might pass muster for needs but the worst you can do is ask and be turned down. If you don't have a VFW nearby, perhaps any other local Veterans Service Organization in your area might be able to help. You will most likely have to do the usual: apply and have the organization do some due diligence and research. Don't expect a lot of money - most Veterans Service Organizations don't have a lot of money. Membership in the VFW is not required - but it can't hurt.

PO1 (Join to see) I'm asking for reference to help others in the future not for my immediate need. Thank you for the information though, I was not aware that the VFW would/could do this, or that you don't have to be a member. Very good information to know.

SGT Chris Birkinbine Cpl James O'Rawe I cannot garantee this will work - but it is an option for things such as emergency needs - groceries, etc. If they cannot help you - let me know.
