No doubt about it. Continuing Resolution. Nobody in Congress has any interest in anything but, and if there was to be a real budget, it would get done after the new Congress was sworn in.
No one finds it to their advantage to do anything different, lest they be criticized (God forbid).
Nope. CR all the way.

It will be a mess, until there is some real change all around it will continue to be a mess. A sad, sad mess.

Continuing resolution.

Congress and the President will likely not get on the same sheet of music, especially in an election year. The Republicans will run against the President, and the Democrats will run against the Congress.

Based on past performance, I'm voting "lock the doors". (sadly)

Do you guys at least get time off when that happens?

SGT Richard H. nope. Military works without pay, but they have been nice lately and passed it so we will get paid if shutdown happens. The militechs and others are sent home, can collect unemployment, but then get back pay for not doing anything and having the AGRs and others do their jobs....not exactly fair, but not exactly their fault either...

LTC (Join to see), As I think about it, I should have known that. I'm a dive instructor in my spare time, and I live near NAS Corpus Christi, where Naval & Marine pilots get their initial fixed wing flight training. Last shutdown, I had a full class of young Marine LT's....in my first class, I always introduce myself, then have everyone in the class do the same, and tell me what made them decide to dive. Almost every one of them said "I came because all of our planes are grounded and i needed something to do".

I vote that a CR will happen... now exactly when is another story. Congress has floated the government on various spending bills for several years now failing at its first job: pass a budget.

Won't get passed if John Boehner has anything to say about it, and unfortunately he will.

Actually it is Dingy Harry. The House sends budgets to the Senate and they die there.

I can't even remember the last time we've had an actual budget. Let's just hope we can get even a CR.

Sir, 2009. But even that came after a CR and was only for the remaining 6 months or so of the FY.

Seriously? With the mid-term elections coming up? You actually thing Congress will do anything? We are talking about the Congress with the lowest approval rating in history, which has actually done less than the "Do Nothing Congress" ever did... or didn't do.

Aside from passing budgets, the less they do the better IMHO. I wish we would go back to a part time Congress.

No reason whatsoever to believe anything but another continuing resolution. It has become the norm, and with elections right around the corner, our politicians are much too busy politicking to be concerned with such trivialities as the national budget (sarcasm for those that may not have picked up on that).
