If you could vote for anyone to win the 2016 presidential election, who would it be and why? Who would you like to see make a run if they are not doing so already?

Would it be Allan West? Mike Huckabee? Jen Bush? Gary Johnson, or dare I say Hillary Clinton.

It disclaimer is that I want this to be a mature and legitimate conversation. I enjoy hearing other people's views and experiences. Like mama used to say "if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say anything"

What have you RP? Sound off!

I would say Gary Johnson as I am a Libertarian, but I have to work with the two-party system no matter how corrupt it is. With that said, I would support Rand Paul as President and either Donald Trump or Ben Carson as his Vice President.

Myself. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I imagine that would probably be an improvement.

My only preference is that we have mixed governance. I think when one party controls both chambers of Congress and the White House, we get policies that swing too far one way or the other. So, if the GOP keeps the House and Senate in the next set of elections, then I think a Democrat in the WH is a good counter-balance. If a Republican wins the WH, then I'd want one of the Congressional chambers (most likely the Senate) to flip. Ultimately, I am not overly worried about which party gets the WH as long as their agenda is held in check. I think that balance forces the parties to work across the aisle, and working across the aisle results in more balanced legislation.

Of the people actually running, I'd love to see a Bernie Sanders win with maybe Warren agreeing to be VP. Unfortunately, they won't make it, so I'd probably end up holding my nose and voting for Hillary, even though she's as much a Wall Street darling as any on the other side of the field.

Overall, the choices we're all likely to wind up with will be poor ones, there's no avoiding it. All the ones we like (from either side) will never make it. I'd love to see a debate between Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders, those two would probably be the only ones arguing over interesting and relevant topics. Everyone else will be talking fluff and just trying to score cheap shots.

Bernie Sanders makes a few valid argument however he is a socialists to his core. I am from Vermont and now that I am retired and live home again I still would vote for him.

SFC Jeremy Stocker - The "socialist" part doesn't scare me; others think of things like China or Russia but I think of things like Sweden, Denmark, Norway, etc. I'm as interested in strong environmental protections too.

I will dare say, on Democratic side Hillary Clinton, and Elizabeth Warren, on the Republican end I'm only for Chris Christie.

A lot of people in the service don't agree with my liberal view of things, but meh, different words I guess.

Sorry, but I had to give a thumbs down. After all Hillary has done. I honestly don't know how anyone can trust her.

There are evils on both ends. We just choose what evil makes sense to us. I personally don't debate and argue, I just state my opinion and move on.

Picking Christie makes sense in this context. He's more or less a democrat in republican clothing. And an obnoxious one at that.
