Yes Presidential Executive Order 12744 is still in place for Kuwait. This classifies the area as combat zone tax exclusion status. It is also a hardship duty location pay area. However it was removed from the imminent danger pay list so it no longer qualifies for SSI-FWTS.

If I remember correctly Kuwait was a designated combat zone until June or July 2014. Any unit that deployed after that was no longer awarded the combat patch. I was there on ground from Jan-Oct 2014. Now on the 2nd note, every since ISIS been stirring up commotion, it's possible it could be designated again. Just have to check milpher messages or CENTCOM policy etc........
