There are times I wonder when coming back to look for a thread and it has wandered off into the "404 minefield" to be lost forever. I think it is a shame that some of the shared knowledge goes away, however, I recognize the efforts of the Administrators in keeping the conversations professional, appropriate and on point.
I know that some of these were deleted due to information and phrasings that could lead to UCMJ if seen by the right/wrong person, and hopefully the benefactors of disappearing evidence recognize their mistakes and come back with more tactful and discrete questions/answers in the future.
I do wonder if the discretion of the admins focuses more on the errors of active duty vs. retired/separated because of relative risk.
Regardless, thank you, tireless moderators, for your efforts. Please, carry on.
I hear you Chief, I have seen many that I have participated in that had good conversations that were very animated at times but also were informative and thought provoking.

The funny thing is their are ones that are still in the open forums that were very close if not over the line of being disrespectful, makes you wonder how they are still around. I think some threads disappear due to someone possibly being offended or not in the supportive opinion of the posters or responders.

I honestly think part of it comes down to the nature of the person that got disrespectful. There appears to be a lot more tolerance for Veterans and retirees who blow off steam than the Service Members who are at risk of UCMJ for their postings. Usually CPT K or MAJ B will ask politely for a Veteran to tone it down as long as the initial comment isn't too whacked.

The ones I am referring to without mentioning names are actually AD SMs that are still open threads, while some the ones that have disappeared are veteran/retirees, so that is the funny part of it.

Sir I personally have been try to get some of my threads removed, but to no avail someone finds it and adds more to it.

I kind of like to be more like Major Burns whom takes charge of his threads, but I really try my best to find a way to end it.

In one thread I actually put this:

Well this is the end of the thread

Thank you for participating.

"What you still here?"

"Go watch a movie or go for a walk".....

But to avail I get another SM posting a comment a few days later :)

LOL, makes you wish you had been more careful in your original question, doesn't it. Fortunately there is a difference between being embarrassed over it and being court martialed over it.

lol Yes Sir, little does anyone know that even though I'm in the civilian side I can still get court-martial lol

It was just one of those threads where I found I was not alone in my thoughts but I guess from the sounds of it, it looked like it was going to be a law lol

The last one I saw that did that was a Soldier asking for Suicide assistance for his combat buddy. It was deleted and I have seen others as well.
