Don't become an officer. You posted a question earlier regarding ROTC. Officers are not assigned to CID. They may have CID under their command, but if you want to actually do CID work, enlist instead.

Lilly Chan - It certainly wouldn't hurt. From what I know about getting into the FBI, it's an intense process. So while having CID experience won't be enough on it's own, it's bound to help out.

Lilly Chan - The FBI is Like the Vatican, You want to Work for either one they want you to Get a Degree in Something Else and they will teach you to Apply it to their Needs. Do the 4 Years or More Later then Knock on the FBIs Door.

I’m not sure if going to the office would be advantageous if the interested person is not currently in the military. What’s your thoughts?

If there's one close by. If not the website provides every office's main line and she can talk to the recruiting coordinator/Det SGT.
