Why is it that all other military personnel think that Signal can fix anything with a plug?

Why is it that all other military personnel think that we can fix anything with a plug? And most times its a simple 10 level user fix... (Sigh...) field problems.

Yes it is SSG (Join to see) especially when the old man's coffee pot goes out at 0300 and he wants you to do something about it - true story! Last time I checked COTS coffee pots were not on the MTOE.

As a young LT being ordered to fix the coffee pot I ended up just going to buy a new one. I was at Airborne school, as a brand new 2LT, and was asked to fix someone's email that wasnt working on their computer. Just cant win sometimes.
