Can a National Guardsman obtain permanent residency in another country and stay in the Guard?

This might be a huge no brainer question, as my first instinct is to say a big flat NO...
But then for the fun of it (I say that because I’m really not wishing to apply for PR in Canada as it’s just not viable right now) I looked into the UCMJ, I called the Dept of State, I even tried reaching USCIS, and no one had an answer. Is there even an existent law or am I the first in history to even ask?

There are non citizens in the military, Im not sure how it would work for the NG but I don't think itd be an issue for active duty.

I think this may be a question for JAG, but looking at the requirements, citizenship or permanent residence status is all that is required to join the Army National Guard. I know you don't have to reside in the state where your unit is located and I can't find anything that says you have to live in the US as long as you maintain a US Citizenship.
