We should be so very thankful for that special person that took time out to help mentor us along. The one’s that left you with the wise words of wisdom and guidance. I’ll say for me I thank sincerely MSgt John Hunter what a wonderful friend and mentor.
Peace!

TOP, he always looked after the men in the company, good or bad, called everyone "John", but we all knew who he was talking to, Everyone. At that time, 1st SGT Gainny had 28 years of service, most of it in an Airborne unit.

The first person to come to mind would be my platoon Sergeant who we met coming off the bus that rainy middle of the night start of Basic training.SFC Aubrey Smith was our training NCO through out the ten months we spent in Ft.Lewis and during the ten months and fourteen days I spent as a rifleman in Vietnam,my mentor’s lessons have lasted long after my departure from the Service,a true professional in every way.
