Do you wear your miniature medals on your civilian suits?

I've seen retired COL Allen West wearing just his specialty badges, and I've seen some folks wearing their medals and badges, and some even wearing their ribbons. Correct me if I'm wrong, aren't we only allowed to wear the miniature medals on the lapel of a suit?

I've not seen many who wear miniature awards - mostly skill badges, ranger tabs. I've met Allen West and he was only wearing his wings and the flag:

I would interpret that badges would fall under the category of "medals" for the purposes described.

I could be way off here but SSG(P) (Join to see) I believe the picture you posted (which i've now reposted) is actually Prince Phillip. If so he can pretty much wear them however he wants. That being said I've seen other vets in the UK wear theirs the same way.

SSG(P) (Join to see): The only time I've seen this done with any frequency is at a military ball or a similiar formal event. Retired male service members dressed in a tuxedo sometimes wear their miniature badges and medals on their left lapel. That seems like the most appropriate venue to me.
