I’m an 11B38 with an opportunity to go to Camp Zama, Japan. Any info on what I would be doing there work wise would be greatly appreciated.

Camp Zama has a great location on Honshu. Close to much of what you would want to see in Japan including My Fuji. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there

We just PCSd in (new ADA BDE stood up); facilities and services on post are great, family housing and elementary school are very good as well. You are in the greater-Tokyo metro area, so there are lots of off-duty things to do, plus you can (relatively) cheaply fly to China, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, or New Zealand. As far as your duties/work load, hopefully your sponsor can fill you in, but as far as a duty station goes, this place is very nice.

You can find info on the USAG Japan Facebook page and USFJ website. It’s not far from Tokyo and has all the amenities of most overseas assignments. Camp Zama is growing like most garrisons in the Pacific. Regular Army units are all throughout Japan such as ADA, Logistics, Signal, MI, MP, SF, and medical. I think you should jump on the opportunity. If you’ve been to Korea it’s similar without all the restrictions.

Korea was also another opportunity for me but I’ve never been there only oconus I’ve been to was Graf and Vilseck in Germany. I know the Korea assignment is BLC because you need an 8 identifier

If I were you I would jump on the opportunity and take the Japan assignment. US Army Japan (USARJ) is a small overseas command and you will likely never see the opportunity again as opposed to Korea which is a large command and has many units so it's much more likely that you would be able to go there in the future if you still wanted. Also just my opinion as someone who has been to both places, I much prefer Japan (although I will admit it is more expensive than Korea).
