If there is what do they do with 11B I was told either chosen company or HHC. I don't know how 11B can be effective other than operating Bradley's. Any info would be helpful.

I was in 1/68 AR, though I was in one of the two Infantry companies. There were several things to do in the Heavy world. You had S3, Driver, Gunner, TC (if you held a SL position) and Dismount. All of these things fell under the realm of the 11B world.

I was in 3/68 armor back in the early 90s and HHC had one 11 series mortar platoon, most were 11C but a few were 11B.

I was 11B in the 6/32 Armor Bn on Ft Carson in 1972-74. We served as aggressors, ammo haulers, tank repair and just about anything you can think of. I was in HHC but we supported every company when they went down range. My first year I spent a total of 9 months in the field. Not so much fun when you’re a newlywed. But we got to drive the M114’s until they turned them in for the Gamma Goat. Me team got almost no time to train on infantry tactics. The 4th ID was Mechanized. I reenlisted as quickly as I could and went to the only Straight legged Infantry Division at Ft Lewis Wash. 9th ID. It was the difference between night and day.

1-23 Inf was the Bar None unit right? I did a short stint with the 4-23 until I got my selection for RIP.
