Is it time to go all in yet? No boots on the ground? ISIS apparently doesn't think so.

In this article, ISIS and US Forces clash for the first time. How is this possible when Combat Troops aren't deployed? First punch thrown in a bigger fight or a flash in the pan?

Sir, I just read this article on the DailyUK or something like that. So ISIS picked Ein al-Asad where there were US forces collocated with Iraqi forces. It did not end well for ISIS.
I never liked the phrase "no boots on the ground." I have said it before and I know there are many out there who agree with me, if you are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan (just to name a few places), you are on a combat mission. While the "powers that be" may not believe that it is time to go all in, I absolutely believe that it is time to start calling a spade a spade. US Forces in Iraq are on a combat mission. Just ask the folks at Ein al-Asad...

The way I see it, we're trying to do to ISIS what we did to the Taliban in Northern Afghanistan...

Small detachments of "advisors" (read: CIA/SF) that coordinate for air. Unfortunately for us, the Syrian 'moderate rebels' or IA aren't as put together as the Northern Alliance. The Peshmerga could be, but they stand relatively secluded and as Kurds don't have the affluence that arabs do among our targets (read: intel collection -> targeting). Purely speculation, though.
