Great Question, based on this I would be prepared to take it as the curriculum is changing again

"First off, we’re changing the name to the Distributed Leader Course, or DLC. We’re not just changing the name; we’re changing the content and providing a modern look and feel that today’s Soldier identifies with. The content is also being fully redesigned, with the multiple-guess testing coming to a well-deserved end. Soldiers will spend less time trying to game the system and more time trying to work their way through the situational training in the modules.

Once complete, the DLC will consist of six levels, where the Army will auto-enroll a Soldier upon completion of initial military training and each NCO PME course. We’re also working to change auto-enrollment upon Soldier being eligible for promotion."

I am told that anyone already in the process of SSD-x will have 6 months to complete before they end up having to do DLC-x. That makes me believe that you will be grandfathered.

I know I have one more module to suffer through in SSD4. While I am curious about the new course, I am going I won't have to take it after all the effort I have put in for SSD

I’m sure you’ll be grandfathered in if you already completed a ssd level or are enrolled in a course you’ll have a drop dead date. For example, I never went to wlc or did ssd 1 because of prior service, but in my records it’s listed as “constructive credit”.

That’s my issue as well I wasn’t recommended for 6 because I don’t have ssd2 but I have completed 3 and 4 about 4 years ago.
