Wife is going active duty while I stay in the Reserves. What can I expect right after she gets out of ait?

Wife is going active while I follow her, I have 4 years in and may do AGR at what closest base she is sent to. What can I expect right after she gets out of ait? My command already knows about everything and is very supportive. She is a 89B I am a 92A.

Perhaps the Army is different than the Air Force, but you can't just "go AGR" in the Air Force, the unit has to have a vacancy, and it gets announced/applied for. Typically there is competition for the jobs because they are the best kept secret..

Well only reason why I said that (which could change any minuite) is because hrc has a listing of a lot of open positions for AGR 92A mos. But it could all change.

Nice, good luck. That was why I had said it could be different, because admittedly know zip about how Army hires AGRs. I can tell you that in my unit, there is a waiting list 10 deep.

SPC if you go AGR your first duty station is likely NOT local and you have one day to accept or pass on the position (if accepted into the program) or be put back on the bottom of the list. You would be best served to try to get a technician position vs AGR. That way you apply directly for that GS position such as a unit admin. If you want any help feel free to message me. Best of luck

Normally they (and you) would move after AIT is completed and she gets orders for her first assignment.
