I have attended RASP before and got injured before getting dropped, I've recently earned my tab and started to take another look at the Ranger life. I want to know what Ranger deployments are actually like, I've heard stories of "The good old days" when raids would be conducted daily, but I've heard more recently that deployments are short, but there's no action. I'd really like to hear an unglorified and realistic truth of what Rangers are actually doing while deployed.

If your platoon deploys you’ll get to go out on target. Op tempo is always pretty high in Regiment.

I haven't deployed. I missed a Batt deployment due to being at Ranger School. What I was told about that deployment was that Tabs got a lot more missions than junior Rangers, but nearly everyone did get to go on at least one mission. Some guys were only there for a month.

I don't think politicians want the wars to end, and Rangers will always be fighting when there's fighting to do.

Keep in mind that you can do anything in civilian life that you can do in the military, including fight overseas.
